Today is Pajama Day

 Happy to report after a 24 hour travel day, we made it home.  We almost missed our flight to Chicago because Aer Lingus Airline gave us poor directions regarding boarding passes.  When we followed those directions, which included leaving the Dublin Airport, every airport staff member, including an Irish border agent, we approached treated us like, why did you do that?  Why are you here and not there?  Well, it seemed questionable to us too, but this is what you all told us to do.  After a nice run through the airport, we defied all predictions of the travel assistant desk and made it to our gate, with enough time that the guy running the boarding line told us to go have a Guinness. Lol.  (Hubs tried but the bar had already closed.)  So after our overseas flight and then one more connection we arrived with a sigh of relief to our vehicle in long-term parking to discover that the battery in the key fob was dead and we couldn’t get into the car. ...

Last Day

  Monday - Dubrovnik day 3 Hubs went out for an early morning walk and brought back cappuccino and chocolate croissant. We sat out on our steps to eat, while I blinked at the morning sun.    I slept well, but very tired from my exciting birthday yesterday.    I’m wearing sunscreen today - the long sleeve shirt I was carrying over my shoulders yesterday was clearly not sun proof.    Thankfully my pink skin turned to golden tan overnight so that’s good.    This sun doesn’t joke around. The temperatures have been much better this week than last week, so it’s easy to forget about star damage.  We strolled around old town with it still early enough that the sites of interest aren’t yet open. Queen of the Seven Kingdoms

  Sunday - Dubrovnik, day 2 The hubs treated me like a Queen today, for today is my birthday.    We started the day off with a quick pastry and headed to the Maritime Museum. Lots of neat stuff, like model ships, maps, compasses, barometers, etc. This is something I want to go back and relook at things online to absorb more of the information.    We were on a little bit of a time crunch due to the hubby’s secret plans for my birthday brunch.  Off he whisked me away outside of the city walls and we rode a dragon, I mean cable car, up Mount Srd and dined at the restaurant on the top overlooking the old town. Hubby reserved one of the front row 360 view tables and it was spectacular.
